Yes, meter readings are absolutely important to ensure accuracy when producing your monthly bills and in turn maintain a healthy account. The first stage is your opening meter readings to allow us to proceed with the correct readings in your account. We are also required to provide these readings to your current supplier to enable them to finalise and close your account held by them.
Once we receive your opening meter readings we provide these readings to your current supplier who will then generate your final statement. If you are in credit they will arrange to reimburse the money back to you directly. Please do note, this can take a few weeks after the switchover for your current (old) supplier to send you the final statement.
Should your account gain credit we readjust your direct debit payment keeping you informed but also offer you the option for the sum to be refunded.
The switching process can take up to a full length of 28 days. Don't worry though, we will take care of all the details and keep you fully informed along the way. All we will ask from you is that you submit your meter readings around the switch over date.
Don't worry if you are not able to submit a meter reading to us we will request an estimated reading to open your account.
